Change for Life: Long View

 

Our approach in being partners who invite us to work together is a focus on both short and long term goals for community development.

The long term goal is economic strength for each family as a producer. He explains the model of investing in a growth oriented strategy where a pig well cared for produces offspring that bring immediate funds but as some piglets are held back more livestock builds a sustainable farm enterprise.

The local farm produces income that supports the parish clinic as they do their best funding urgent care for mothers and babies who cannot afford to pay.

At the same time the parish community works to educate in order to break a cycle of poverty based on dependence for charity. Each member of the community is encouraged to work and strive to be self sufficient.
