Book overview
The intent of merging the poetry and photography in this book is to support efforts in Uganda to provide healthcare for underserved communities where modern medical services are often the difference between life and death for families, especially women and children. This book is a call to action by contributing to the MicroFinance Alliance Africa Projects Foundation (MAAPF).
The Foundation focuses on the plight of impoverished mothers and babies who have limited access to healthcare. In Uganda, malarial fever is out of control, medical supplies are limited, the national healthcare system is inadequate, and healthcare professionals are overworked.
The poetry and photos in this book vividly convey a message that hope is a part of healing. But hope is built on a foundation of action. And action is the parent of change.
